Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were announced live on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
